Green Gas
A sustainable alternative to natural gas.
Green gas does not require modifications to your existing infrastructure, but it is limited in availability. GETEC can guarantee the availability of green gas with a digestion facility that converts biomass into green gas. This aligns with the blending obligation that will apply to energy suppliers.
E-Boiler
You can electrify your process, for example, by using an e-boiler. But in this time of grid congestion, is the heavier connection required for this available? Perhaps installing an e-boiler alongside your existing gas boiler in a hybrid system is the solution.
Only during peak moments does the gas boiler kick in; at other times, the e-boiler provides you with sustainable energy.
CO2 Capture
Every company that uses fossil fuels produces the greenhouse gas CO2. One way to eliminate this emission is by capturing and storing CO2 underground through Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS). Even better is if the captured CO2 can also be utilized as a raw material in your own processes or in horticulture. This is called Carbon Capture, Utilization & Storage (CCUS). GETEC can make both methods available for you.
Hydrogen
Hydrogen is on the rise. The major advantages of green hydrogen production are minimal emissions and good storage and transportation possibilities. Currently, a national hydrogen network is being developed in the Netherlands, connecting the major industrial clusters in the country. Perhaps producing hydrogen yourself is a profitable option. We are investigating this for you.
Hydrogen Production Provides Oxygen for Water Treatment
During hydrogen production, oxygen and heat are released. This can be applied in wastewater treatment. GETEC can adapt your wastewater treatment plant accordingly, resulting in your paper mill having its own closed water circuit. Finally, it is also possible to produce green hydrogen through biomass gasification (digestion at high temperatures).
Hydrogen as Feedstock
Hydrogen can be used as energy for your processes and also provides you with oxygen. But an even greater value of hydrogen lies in its use as a raw material, for example, for the production of fertilizers or sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Producing hydrogen yourself creates an interesting business case.
Geothermal Energy
Geothermal energy (or ground heat) can also be used to generate heat for your processes. This involves harnessing the temperature difference between the Earth's surface and the heat from the deep underground. We expect this method to become profitable from 2030 onwards.
